Read your profit and loss
See your income, expenses and profit for any period, compare it with earlier ones and filter by tracking.
The profit and loss shows what you earned, what you spent and what's left over for a period. It counts invoices and bills on their date, paid or not (that's the accrual way). For money actually in and out, use the cash summary.
How do I run it?
- Open AccountingReportsProfit and loss.
- Pick the dates, or a preset like this financial year.
You'll see income, then direct costs and Gross profit, then other expenses and Net profit.
How do I compare periods?
- In Compare with, choose how many earlier periods to show.
- In Compare by, choose Same dates, earlier years or The period before.
Each period gets its own column.
Can I see one region or department?
Yes, if you use tracking categories. Pick an option in the Tracking filter.
