Reports
See where your cash went
See your bank balances at the start and end of a period, and what brought cash in and took it out.
Profit isn't cash. The cash summary shows only money that actually moved through your bank accounts, grouped by what it was for.
How do I run it?
- Open AccountingReportsCash summary.
- Pick the dates.
It reads from top to bottom:
- Opening bank balance
- Cash received, by account, then Total cash received
- Cash spent, by account, then Total cash spent
- Net cash movement and Closing bank balance
Transfers between your own bank accounts cancel out, so they don't show as cash in or out.
Why doesn't it match my profit?
Profit counts invoices and bills when they're dated. Cash counts them when they're paid. Loan repayments, owner drawings and buying equipment also move cash without being expenses.
