Record your business structure
Keep a list of the directors, shareholders, trustees, partners or members, and when each one started or stepped down.
The structure is who's who in a company, trust, partnership or fund. Your accountant uses it for signing, ID checks and distributions, so keep it current when someone joins or steps down.
How do I add someone?
- Open SettingsStructure.
- Choose Add beside the role, like directors, trustees or partners.
- Enter their Name. It can be a person or another company or trust.
- For shareholders and unitholders, add their Share %, Class or Units / shares.
- Set the From date and choose Add.
The roles listed suit your type of business. A company shows directors and shareholders, and a trust shows trustees, appointors and beneficiaries.
What do I do when someone steps down?
Edit them and set the Ceased date. They move to Former, so the history stays.
Edit, don't remove
Only remove someone who was added by mistake. Removing them loses the record that they were ever there.
Who can change it?
The owner or an admin. Everyone else can see it but not change it. Sole traders don't have this page, because the business is you.
