Run more than one business
Add another business or your sole trader books, and switch between them from the top bar with one sign-in.
- Add a business
- Set it up
- Switch
One sign-in covers every business you own or work in. Each business has its own books, its own team and its own plan.
How do I add a business?
- Choose the business name at the top right, then Add a business.
- Choose I’m a sole trader or A company, trust, partnership or fund.
- Enter the Business name and ABN, then choose Continue.
- Billbook takes you through setup for the new business.
Sole traders
As a sole trader your business runs under your own name and ABN, so its books sit with you. Enter Your ABN and, if you use one, a Trading name, then Start my books.
How do I switch between businesses?
Choose the business name at the top right and pick another. The list is grouped into Personal & businesses, Where you work and Your accountant, with a count of anything waiting in each.
Home · To do shows what's waiting across all of them on one page.
Can I choose which business opens when I sign in?
Yes. In Account & security under Preferences, set After signing in, open to a business, or to Show my list of businesses.
Does each business need its own plan?
Yes. Every business starts on the Free plan, and you can upgrade one without the others in SettingsPlan & billing.

Ask Billbook
Type what you want in plain words and Billbook opens the screen for it, already filled in. It never saves or sends anything for you.
Move your books
Bring your history across from Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon or a spreadsheet with one export, check it adds up, then switch the old one off.
