Move your books from other software
Bring your history across from Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon or a spreadsheet with one export, check it adds up, then switch the old one off.
- Pick your system
- Export
- Drop it in
- Check it adds up
- Go live
You export your books from your old system once, drop the files into Billbook, and it works out what everything is. Then it shows you whether your books match the ones you came from.
How do I start a move?
- In setup, choose Move my books to Billbook.
- Under Which system are your books in?, pick Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon, A spreadsheet or paper or Something else.
- Follow the export steps Billbook shows for that system.
- Drop the files in, or choose Choose files.
- Answer What is it? for any file Billbook isn't sure about.
- Choose Bring it all across.
Don't tidy anything
A zip, a spreadsheet, a CSV or a PDF report all work. Don't unzip, rename or fix the columns first.
Already set up and want to move now?
Open SettingsData and closing and choose Bring your books across. If you chose I'll do this later in setup, it's waiting there.
How do I know it came across right?
Billbook compares your accounts with the figures from your old system, line by line, and tells you whether they match. Anything that doesn't is listed so you can look into it.
How do I finish?
Choose These books are live now. Your invoice numbers carry on from your last one, and you can cancel your old software whenever you like.
Going live can't be undone
Until then, Undo the whole move takes everything back out and keeps your files, so you can try again.
