Sign your tax return or engagement letter
Read what your accountant sends, check the figures, and sign it online, or decline with a reason.
- Sent to you
- Read it
- Sign
- Locked
Your accountant sends your tax return, engagement letter or other documents here to sign. It takes a minute, and there's nothing to print.
How do I sign?
- Choose Review & sign on the item under To do, or from the email.
- Read the document. For a tax return, the headline figures are shown above it.
- Tick I have read and understood this document.
- Type your full name under Type your full name to sign.
- Choose Sign document.
Your accountant is told straight away. Once everyone who needs to sign has signed, the document is locked and read-only.
Signing this way is a legally binding electronic signature. Only sign if it's right.
Something's wrong. What do I do?
Choose Something’s not right? Decline with a reason, say what's wrong under Why can’t you sign it?, then Decline to sign. Your accountant fixes it and sends it again.
Just have a question? Choose Question? on the item and ask your accountant first.
Where's my engagement letter?
The letter that sets out what your accountant does for you and what they charge. Open your accountant's page and choose Engagement beside their name.
Where are my signed copies?
In AccountingTax & documentsDocuments, marked Signed, and in your accountant's page under Documents.
