Bank feeds, and statement files meanwhile

Live bank feeds are on the way. Until then, bring your transactions in with a statement file from your internet banking.

  1. Download from your bank
  2. Import
  3. Find matches
  4. OK each line

A bank feed sends your transactions from the bank to Billbook every day, so there's nothing to download. Feeds aren't switched on yet. Until they are, a statement file does the same job in a minute.

How do I import a statement file?

  1. In your internet banking, download the account's transactions as CSV, OFX or QFX.
  2. In Billbook, open the account from Bank.
  3. Choose New, then Import a statement.
  4. Drop the file in and choose Import.

Overlap is fine

Lines already in Billbook are skipped. Download a little more than you need, so nothing falls through the gap between files.

How often should I import?

As often as you like to see where you stand. Weekly keeps reconciling quick, and before each BAS (Business Activity Statement) at the latest.

What happens when feeds arrive?

Each account will get a way to connect its bank. Your bank sends the transactions, and you reconcile them the same way you do now. What you've already imported stays.
