Do your BAS
Prepare your activity statement from your books, check the figures, lodge it with the ATO and record that it's done.

Your BAS is the form you send the ATO each quarter or month. It reports the GST (the 10% tax on most things you sell) you charged and paid. The difference is what you pay or get back.
Reconcile first
Billbook works the figures out from your books, so the BAS is only as right as they are.
How do I prepare my BAS?
- Open AccountingBooksGST & BAS.
- Find the period. Previous year goes back a year.
- Choose Prepare, then Open.
- Check the figures and the total at the bottom.
A figure looks wrong?
Fix the transaction behind it. Adjust figures changes only the statement, not your books.
How do I lodge it?
Lodging from Billbook Coming soon needs ATO approval. For now, lodge in Online services for business, or have your tax agent lodge it, then:
- Enter the ATO receipt number and the date in Lodged on.
- Choose Record as lodged.
A recorded statement's figures are fixed as lodged and can't be changed.
What if my accountant does my BAS?
The BAS screen says so next to each statement, and they record it from their side. You can still see every statement.
