Send bills to Billbook by email
Get your own bills address, forward supplier invoices to it, and each one turns up as a draft bill.
- Copy your address
- Forward bills
- Billbook reads them
- You approve
Every business has its own private email address for bills. Forward supplier invoices to it, or give it to suppliers to send to directly, and each one lands as a draft bill.
Where do I find my bills address?
- Open PurchasesNew bill.
- Choose Import, then Auto-fill from email.
- Choose Copy and paste the address into your email's forwarding rules, or send it to your suppliers.
What happens to an emailed bill?
Each PDF, photo or e-invoice attached to the email becomes its own draft bill, with the file kept against it. Logos and tiny images in the email are skipped. You get a notification when a bill arrives.
Billbook reads the bill with AI while you have AI uses left this month, and reads the plain text after that. Either way, check the draft and choose Approve.
Nothing's final until you approve
An email can only ever make a draft. It never reaches your books or BAS until you approve it.
What if my address starts getting junk?
An admin can choose Get a new address. The old one stops working straight away, so update your forwarding rules and tell your suppliers.
