Snap a receipt and turn it into a bill

Take a photo of a receipt or bill and let Billbook read it into a draft bill you check and approve.

  1. Snap
  2. Billbook reads it
  3. You check
  4. Approve
  5. Pay

Billbook reads the supplier, date, amounts and GST into a draft bill. The photo stays attached, so it's there if the ATO ever asks.

How do I snap a receipt?

  1. On your phone, choose Snap a receipt from the quick actions. On a computer, open PurchasesNew bill, then Import and Auto-import with AI.
  2. Choose Take a photo, or drop in a PDF or scan.
  3. Choose Make a draft bill.
  4. Check the Supplier, lines and tax.
  5. Choose Approve.

Nothing's final until you approve

A bad read never reaches your books. If Billbook can't read the file at all, you still get a draft with it attached.

How do I pay the bill?

Open the bill, choose Record payment and the account it was Paid from. For several bills at once, use PurchasesBatch payments.

How are AI uses counted?

Each receipt that's read is one use. Reads that fail don't count. The Free plan includes 2 a month, from the 1st; the Pro plan includes far more.

Used them all?

Make the bill with Attach a file only instead. This month's use is in SettingsPlan & billing.
