Your firm's own books

Run your practice's own invoices, bank, BAS and bills in Billbook, free on Pro once your practice is verified.

  1. Create your books
  2. Get verified
  3. Bill clients

Your firm runs its own business in Billbook, the same way your clients do. The invoices you raise from client pages land here.

How do I set them up?

  1. Go to BillingYour firm’s books.
  2. Choose Create my firm’s books.

They're made from your firm details, with you as owner and your firm's admins as admins. Your first client invoice creates them too, if you haven't already.

Only people who manage the firm can see this page. Everyone else sees No access.

How do I open them?

Choose Open your firm’s books in Billbook. They open in the business app, in a new tab. That's where you send invoices, record payments, reconcile your bank and do your BAS.

What plan are they on?

The Free plan until Billbook verifies your practice. After that, the Pro plan switches on by itself, at no cost. Payroll for your own staff is coming soon.

How does verification work?

Billbook checks every practice by hand, using your TPB (Tax Practitioners Board) tax or BAS agent number.

  1. Add your agent number in Firm settingsFirm profile.
  2. Come back to BillingYour firm’s books. The Practice verification box shows Not sent yet, Waiting for Billbook, Verified or Not verified.

Verification opens up lodging with the ATO, free Pro on your firm's books and partner payouts.

Until you're verified you can use everything else. Changing your agent numbers sends your practice to be checked again.
