Templates for letters, emails and checklists

Preview every letter, document and email Billbook makes for your practice, and write your own tax checklist questions.

Firm settingsTemplates is the one place for everything Billbook writes for your practice. Each one is shown for real, with your logo and details and made-up client figures.

What's in there?

  • Documents: letters, tax, financial statements and company secretarial papers, such as the Engagement letter and Tax estimate letter.
  • Emails to clients and Emails to your team, such as a Signature request or Document request.
  • Tax checklists for people, and for companies, trusts and funds.

Pick one from the list on the left to preview it. Under the preview, Billbook says what it uses and where to change it. The client, people and figures in the previews are samples.

Tax checklists only show for people who can work on tax returns.

How do I change how a letter looks?

Letters use your logo, name, ABN and address from your firm profile. Change them there and every letter follows.

Email wording is set by Billbook and can't be edited. Your practice name shows under the Billbook logo.

How do I change a tax checklist?

  1. Pick Tax checklist: people or Tax checklist: companies, trusts & funds.
  2. Choose Add question, type it, and pick its section: Income, Deductions or Other.
  3. Tick Ask for details, Ask for documents or both.
  4. Reorder questions with the arrows, or remove the ones you don't need.
  5. Choose Save.

Your checklist is marked Your firm’s. To go back to Billbook's, choose Use built-in.

Checklists you've already sent don't change. Last year's answers are filled in for the client to confirm.
