Your firm profile
Set your practice type, TPB registration, ABN, logo, address and the signatory printed on your letters and statements.
Your firm profile is what clients see on your engagement letters, invoices, statements and emails. It also decides which screens you see and what you can lodge.
Only owners and admins can change the firm profile.
How do I change my firm's details?
- Open Firm settingsFirm profile.
- Under Firm details, choose Upload logo or Change logo.
- Type your ABN and choose Look up on ABR to fill in your names, state, postcode and GST status.
- Check the Legal name, Trading name and Registered for GST.
- Under Address & contact, fill in your address, Phone, Email and Website.
- Under Compilation report, enter the Signatory name and Signatory title of whoever signs your compiled financial statements.
- Choose Save.
Leave the ABN blank to clear it. Otherwise it needs all 11 digits.
What does the practice type change?
Under Practice type & registration, pick one:
- Accounting practice: tax returns, financial statements and workpapers, plus books.
- Bookkeeping practice: books, BAS, payroll and TPAR. Tax returns, statements and workpapers are hidden.
- Accounting and bookkeeping: everything.
Registration numbers are optional and don't hide anything. You need a Tax agent registration number before you can lodge tax returns from Billbook, and a BAS agent registration number covers lodging BAS, IAS, STP and TPAR.
Saving your registration also sends your practice to Billbook for checking.
Who counts as behind a client?
The By contact view on the client list groups clients by the people behind them. Under Clients by contact, Count shareholders from sets how big a share someone needs before they count as behind a company.
See how your letters look before you send one: Firm settingsTemplates shows each letter with your logo and details.
