Plan the firm's work on the Board and Backlog
Drag live jobs across the Board, group them by person, and use the Backlog to see everything still due.
- Backlog
- Assign
- Board
- Done
The Board shows the work your team is on right now. The Backlog shows everything still to do, sorted by when it's due.
What's on the Board?
Jobs with a preparer that are due soon, overdue, have no due date, or were finished recently. Work due further out stays in the Backlog. The columns are:
- Not started: not started and data in.
- In progress: in progress, client query, review and signed.
- Done: lodged, assessed and closed.
How do I use the Board?
- Open WorkBoard.
- Drag a card to another column to move the job.
- Click a card to change its status, people, priority, due date or blocker without leaving the Board.
- Under Group by, pick Assignee to see who's on what, Priority, or None.
Dragging a card into Done marks the job lodged. When grouped by assignee, dragging a card to another person's row hands the job to them.
What's in the strip above the columns?
Counts of what's overdue, due this week, unassigned and awaiting the client. Click the overdue or due this week count to filter the Board. The unassigned count opens the Backlog showing unassigned work.
How do I find a job?
Type in Search entity or job…. Under Assignee, pick people or Only me. Filters narrows by Priority and Work type. Clear all resets everything.
Too many to show? The Board shows the busiest cards and says so. Narrow the filters or open the Backlog.
What's in the Backlog?
Every open job that isn't lodged, assessed or closed, in three sections: Overdue, Due soon and Upcoming & undated. The last one starts collapsed. Open WorkBacklog to plan workloads. Click a row to open the same panel as on the Board.
How do I hand out unassigned work?
- In the Backlog, set Assignee to Unassigned.
- Open a job and pick a Preparer, or choose Assign to me.
A job with no preparer never shows on the Board, so check the Backlog for unassigned work often.
