Set up your practice
Work through the setup steps for your firm's details, registrations, services, team, own books and first clients.
- Firm details
- Registrations
- Services
- Your team
- Your clients
Once you've made your firm and turned on two-step sign-in, Billbook walks you through a few setup steps. Every step can be skipped and finished later, so fill in what you have and keep moving.
What are the steps?
- Firm details: enter your ABN and choose Look up on ABR to fill in your names, then add your address, logo and who signs your letters.
- Registrations: your firm's Tax agent number or BAS agent number.
- Services and prices: untick what you don't offer and type your own prices, ex GST. Add your Hourly rate (ex GST) and Payment terms too.
- Your team: add the email of each person you work with and pick a role.
- Your firm’s books: choose Create my firm’s books to run your own invoices, bank and BAS in Billbook.
- Your clients: pick Import from your old system or Add your first client.
Not sure of a price yet? Leave it blank. Billbook asks for it before it's ever used.
Everything here can be changed later. Your ABN and details live in Firm settingsFirm profile, and your prices and hourly rate in Firm settingsServices & prices.
Can I skip a step?
Yes. Choose Skip for now on any step. When you finish, You’re set up lists what you skipped, and choose Go to my firm to start work.
How do I come back to a skipped step?
Skipped steps stay on your home page under Finish setting up. Choose Do it now beside one to open it. Don't need them? Choose Hide setup steps.
Your registration numbers are what Billbook checks before your practice can lodge with the ATO. Add them early so the check can start.
