Send a quote and turn it into an invoice

Quote a job, let the customer accept it online, then invoice all of it or part of it.

  1. Quote
  2. Email
  3. Accepted
  4. Invoice

A quote tells a customer what a job will cost. It doesn't touch your books until you turn it into an invoice.

How do I make a quote?

  1. Open SalesSales overview and choose New quote.
  2. Choose the Customer and set when it Expires.
  3. Add a Title and Summary if you like, then your lines.
  4. Choose Save.

Quotes aren't approved. You can keep editing one until the customer answers it.

How do I send it?

Open the quote, choose Email, then Send. Your customer gets the PDF and a link to view it online.

How does my customer accept it?

On the online quote they type their name and choose Accept quote or Decline. The quote's status updates for you.

Got a yes by phone? Open the ⋯ menu and choose Mark accepted or Mark declined.

How do I turn it into an invoice?

  1. Open the quote and choose Create invoice.
  2. Pick All of it, or type a Percentage to invoice for a progress claim.
  3. Choose Create invoice again. The invoice opens as a draft.
  4. Check it, then approve it.

The quote shows as Invoiced once all of it has been invoiced. Until then you can keep making progress claims from it.

Can I reuse a declined quote?

Yes. Open it and choose Reopen, or Copy it to start a fresh one.
